Hi
I bought my first Classic car in 1980. I Lancia Fulvia 1.3 Series 3. I ran it for a few years but had to sell it as I couldn't afford to restore it.
After 40 years of misc classic car collecting, I finally bought some more Lancia. I recently bought a Montecarlo S2. To me a grown up Xi/9 of which I have had about 17! It is presently away getting some fettling at a specialist garage.
I am trying to finalise a deal for a HPE VX and hopefully will have her up here in Scotland about Mid March.
I still look back with nostalgia to my holidays in Italy with my family in the 60/70's and always admiring the Lancia's which were then regarded as 'a cut above' the normal car and sporty. We were lucky as there was a Maserati dealer/repairer in my mums village, but that was to my young eyes stratospheric!
For me, cars of the 60/70/80's have a certain style and class which is absent in most modern cars. Whilst any modern car is vastly superior to any car from that era in a practical sense, comfort; safety; efficiency that is different from say admiring a modern painting to a classic one.
I was delighted to find that this forum exists and that there appears to be good resources available for these rare cars.
Hopefully this year, we can all get out to use our cars and enjoy them.
Please say hello if you see me out and about int he cars.
