Door Cards
« on: March 29, 2012, 09:02:37 AM »
After getting the Beta back from the extended engine rebuilt, and then driving it to see if all is well, I noticed that the driver side door card was loose at the bottom. Took it off, bottom totally rotten away, so now the new project on it is to replace the offending part.

Used the old one as a template to cut a new one, then the project came to a screaming stop. Can not find replacement plastic holding pins (?) that clip into the door frame.

Anyway here's some photo's of the project so far.

Gerhard,

You mean these?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-128-131-Lancia-Gamma-Beta-Delta-fix-clip-interior-/260976476395?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cc36900eb

I bought these in advance as I know the originals go brittle or have been damaged prior to me getting the car, plus I bought other trim clips and plastic indicator screws off the same guy so saved on postage.  They were identical to the originals and they are new as opposed to NOS. (New Old Stock)

Hello Matt,

Yes that's the one's. But as always being at the bottom end of the world, I will have to see if I can get some local ones.

Thanks,

Gerhard

Gerhard,

The guy is based in Portugal and ships worldwide, it took no more than 10 days for mine to arrive.

I saw, he is actually staying in the same town as my brother in law. Let me first see if I can get local, failing that I will order some from him.

Thank You Sir. I requested my brother in law to pick some up for me, as he is also living in the same town. (Save some cost)

I found some clips here in Durban. R60.00 for 10. Attached some more photo's of the card. I decided to seal the Masonite board, hopefully will then last longer.
