Guys I need your help!
I've been asked to fit new window winder mechanism to a Lancia Beta, I got them both fitted but I'm not happy on how it's turned out.
The window will happily go up about 3/4's of the way then start to go stiff to turn when cranking the handle.
Before I fitted the 2nd one I noticed the original one had a bow in the middle of the vertical section so I tried to copy that on the new part...... I believe it has helped as the window will go up more but not all the way.
The bracket holes don't line up very well!...... the 2nd one I've fitted I've only got 1 bolted fitted, the 2nd bolt hole is miles out.
Can you guy's help me?

Hi,
Some pointers:

It's good to make sure the assembly works well on the bench, and that
the split tube is evenly open all the way. Any kinks will impede the motion. Engine oil
should be used to lube the spiral, not grease.

When fitting, the forward window channel is best removed for access. Hold the window up the
top with sticky tape. Rotate the unit into position, the mounting holes should all line up give or take a few mils.

Once it's in, check again for correct ops without the window connected.
Refit that front lower window guide channel, making sure the tag at the top
is properly located in the upper channel and that the rubber/felt guide is in place correctly.
Then test the free movement of the window by hand.

If all seems ok, connect the two parts together with the two 6mm bolts.
You'll find the window likes to be tilted slightly forward. Silicon spray in the channels helps.

Good luck!
