All, does anybody have the measurements for the factory tool? I need to replace the clutch so the tool / jig will make it less fiddly. Btw I have bought back my silver HPE.

I have the tool, to be honest I'm not sure how easy it would be to fabricate. I can't check it now but if I have time I might get it out at the weekend however I am very busy with other things so no promises!

In my opinion I'm not convinced it's worth the effort

Having battled with the gearbox for clutch replacement in a sedan back in the day I'd say a bit of simple fabrication will save a lot of swearing, bruised knuckles and extended high blood pressure ;)
I will not need it before late March at the earliest. the car is currently hibernating in a salt free environment.
As I have welding and machining equipment available it will be fairly straight forward to fabricate.

My apologies I haven't forgotten but got preoccupied at the weekend with other stuff, I'll try to remember to get the tool out soon!

Have a look at the photos on the link below

I'm not sure that I could measure this accurately enough for anyone to do a copy TBH.

I didn't imagine it was that complex, or in two pieces......

You can probably see why I said above it would be difficult to fabricate, there are two pieces as one holds the engine whilst the other holds the box, I suspect it's only really useful if you have a lift or pit and a suitable gearbox lift.
