I have a failed alternator and am trying to source a replacement. The current one is a 65A Bosch unit with a sticker showing 0 120 489 142 143, so the part number format is correct (apart from additional 3 digits) but unable to find a replacement unit (only bearings / regulators etc.). I can find "replacements" listed that are described as this "This is a hard-to-find, correct OEM-issue Bosch alternator for all Lancia Beta series cars. Self-regulated, two-wire hook-up, 65A output. Bosch PN 120 489 876" but as highlighted, the last 3 digits differ so my confidence is low.
I have a few local companies that can refurbish, but that means being off the road, so could anyone confirm what the right replacement part number is?

John,
If you want to expand your search, i've just read on this forum that early Astra alternators may fit,
also those fitted to Ferrari 400/512 models.[!]
Another thought is to seek a friendly parts factor who'd allow you to put a tape measure to some
on his shelf. Some dimensions are critical,of course, but others don't matter.
Spacing washers and possibly longer/shorter bolts is the key here.

Hi John
You could try WOSP in Aylesbury they list LMA032 70 amp. Luke Woss is normally very helpful and it will be a top quality unit. They also re-build units and did for me.
No idea of the price sorry.
