seems that it is not always clear which section to post in there are a lot of useful threads in both sections maybe it would be better to merge the two together?

Maybe split the technical section down, to engine, suspension, brakes etc... ??? To make it clearer where to post and find information.

That sounds like a great idea to me. Easier to use for members and makes good use use of this software/format. Just leave one section for problems that aren't yet determined to which section, or don't fit in one particular section.

with our forum we have full control, all posts/boards/sections can be moved/merged

Just a suggestion... as the general discussion is crowded with various subjects, maybe have a show and shine section, for people to put a write up and pics of there car, my blog and living with a trevi etc as examples.
