Hello all. My Coupe 2000ie is not following the rules on starting from cold! If I turn her over on the starter without touching anything she will eventually stagger into life at very low rpm and require throttle for a couple of minutes to warm up slightly. As she warms up the tickover gradually gets to normal speed.
On the other hand if I spin her over and dab the throttle she starts instantly and has to be held on the throttle until she warms up a bit.
I assume there is some fault in the cold starting mechanism.
Any advice would be welcome!

Isn't there an extra cold start injector somewhere? If so this probably isn't working. Otherwise is it a sensor fault; i.e. no signal to the ECU that the engine is cold?

Hi Neil. You are correct but I confess I don't know how to check!
Thanks, David.
