Hi
This is to announce we have a stand at this show.
See https://www.necrestorationshow.com/
As last year we are sharing a stand with the Lancia Thema Dedra Consortium. We have space for 4 cars, two I am hoping will be Betas. So as well as confirming that we have a stand, I am looking for anyone willing to have their car on the stand, condition is not important and the organisers actively encourage you to do work on your car during the show. I am also looking for folk to give up one or more days to help man the stand, this gives you free access to the show with time to wander round the show.
Please message me if you can help.

I am still up for this Peter. I will confirm in the next few days hopefully ;)

Hi peter, I am happy to give up a day or two to help on the stand. I start a new job in new year so I'll get the Friday booked off just in case.
-
Thanks, will be in touch

Also happy to help out! Anyone planning on staying over and if so, where?

Hadn't thought about that. I will go look at prices now and see what's about. With its proximity to the airport theres bound to be a lot of options

Guy
The ibis hotel via All Accor which is next to airport for me is £157 for two nights.
I think I might book that but will see what others are doing. I would say their restaurant isn’t cheap as I’ve stayed there several times for flights.
I am
Hoping to grab a lift there and back if not I will likely travel by train
-
Hi Guy
I am aiming to be there for setup day on Thursday, stay over for Friday, then return Sunday. I will ask Phillip from the Dedra Consortium what they are aiming to do.

Has anyone stayed over before and have a preference for hotel? I am happy with the price for the IBIS via the all accor app bt dont want to book it and find everyone else is in a different hotel. the IbIS DOESNT have parking though
-
Hi Steve
We have stayed at various places, the obvious one with no car is the Premier Inn which is essentially on site, 10+ min walk from Hall. All other places I have stayed needed a car which include other Premier Inns and independent hotels/B&B. Not sure yet who is staying over and when as a little early, so if you want to book anywhere suggest maybe have the cancellation option if you may want to change.
Peter

If I'm staying over I'll need a car park. Probably Balsall Common Premier Inner Hockley Heath Premier Inn.

Ibis Styles, sorry, should have said. Traveling by train, walking in and out I'd better hope I don't spend a fortune (or otherwise) on bulky/heavy parts!

What a brilliant weekend. I love it. Put me down for next year with the car. We should find a donor car to work on. I was watching the Ford Corsair guys on the way out. Amazing.
Nice to meet you all, hopefully see you throughout the year.
-
hey Guys, What a great weekend. Really enjoyed and a massive thank you from everyone for welcoming this newbie to the club.
Looking forward to next year. Hope to see some of you before that
Many thanks Steve

I can help with the donor car 8) ;D

A big thanks to all who helped out on the stand especially those who did the full marathon of 3 days!
Also to Alex and Mark for the loan of their cars. Assuming we get offered a stand for next year then it looks like we have offers for cars for then already which is very generous.
My impression of the show this year is that passing visitors were fairly low, but we did have a number of owners and other visitors to the stand who stayed for quite a while. As well as visitors it was also a good excuse for both visiting and helping club members to spend time getting to meet others who they only normally communicate with via the forum.

Absolutely brilliant weekend as always - fantastic to finally meet Mark Ferris (Ferrit) and Steve Hudson (Deks) And have some (if I say so myself) some wonderful cars on our stand. Despite some coughs and splutters on start up, my Beta ran faultlessly down the M40 on the way home. everything is now unloaded and thanks to a leaking de-ionised water bottle my boot carpet is now removed to allow my boot to air dry.
I have also taken the opportunity to pop the fuel tank cover - I think I will be fitting some new R9 compliant fuel hosing soon as the original braided hoses have dhardened and are starting to split and spread at the ends - hopefully that will remove the petrol smell!
Great weekend. Roll on November, but not before a few events including Betameeta26!
Cheers Gents - a pleasure as always

Fantastic weekend! Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to the day I can put my car on the stand. Doubt it'll be this November though.
Left the show at 4pm, home at 9.45. Trains are useless. Next time I'll drive again.....
Guy

we could do a 'Untouched' - 'Meddled with' - 'Rebuilt to perfection' (inc barbed wire around your car :-) ) stand :-)
That's quite a trip home and not funny Guy.
-
May I add my positive thoughts generally and my admiration for those who did the whole show.
Good to see everyone.
My first time at this show and I enjoyed it. A bit more relaxed than the November show.
