Title: Borletti Vegliaflash digital clock
Post by: Luigi on March 02, 2026, 08:22:56 PM
I have one of these digital clocks in my ‘79 Spyder, version number 82378047.  It keeps time well but I would LOVE to have all of the bars working!

Has anyone found a clock restorer who will go anywhere near this particular model?  They were the preferred make for Ferrari, Maserati and Fiat back in the day but a brief look on FerrariChat etc. hasn’t shown much about any restoration projects of these clocks.

Or….is anyone here a whizz with a soldering iron and got their own clock working?

Let me try a spare or two and see if they work. I'm not planning on using them so you would be welcome to one.

Sadly my clocks are both dead... Can't help in this case.

Its it the same as the Delta one?  Picture would help for those of us with earlier cars!

Thanks for looking.
It is, I think, a unique design as the script is below the digital display.

Have you got one out of the car?  Is it easy to open so we can see the inside?  The display leds tend to come as an integrated unit and it would be necessary to source a new one.  If you can post some pictures I might be able to track one down.

While the bezel is slightly different, I can't believe the inside is any different to the X1/9 1500 or Montecarlo S2 unit.  It might be as simple as a dry joint on one of the segments, but not easy to get to all of them. New units here:

Here's a pic of an X1/9 inside for comparison.  You'll likely find used units, but not cheap and just as likely to fail.  I'd take yours apart first and wiggle the display board to see if things change, then run a soldering iron over the joints.  You can power it up simply with a 12v supply.

When you say dead, how did you connect them to test?

Thanks all for being as helpful as ever.

I’ll remove my clock first, run a soldering iron over it and see if I can improve the display. Would be a shame to throw it out at this stage as it keeps time well.

The car’s up at Omicron at the moment so I’ll have a look when I get it back.
