Title: Rear number plate light gasket
Post by: peteracs on March 10, 2026, 08:02:51 PM
Similar to the sill cover end caps the rear number plate light plastic gasket shrinks over time as does not fit correctly without a lot of manipulation and will probably shrink back even so. So a bit of time spent and a TPU version produced which appears to fit well on the bumper.

The photo shows original bottom and new top.

Great stuff Peter, another hard to get item I suspect.

Hi

Not sure if hard to get. The issue is with the old part shrinking over time.

Also used on Fulvias. And some Alfa Romeos of the same period.

What about the plastic headlamp surrounds? I may have to butcher mine slightly to add 5mm to the depth of the sides to accommodate the new headlights. Maybe.

Hi Guy

That is a big part, too big for my printer in one piece and would be an interesting challenge to get a good finish, well beyond my current capability!

Though an extension to the existing one would be a simpler solution if it makes sense.

Thanks for the comments Peter, it was a bit tongue in cheek...
If I find I need to move the whole thing forward 5mm that's easily achieved with spacers at the top and a little superglue with extended brackets at the bottom. Unfortunately life is getting in the way of me spending time in the garage on a consistent basis at the moment.
