Title: new shift rods
Post by: Don Pedro on June 25, 2026, 08:22:14 PM
Everything went well during the Beta Berlina's first trip in Italy. A week after returning home, the shift rod snapped. We replaced the rods and reinstalled them. The Beta shifts again, though the action is stiff. That should improve as I drive it more...?

Your term 'shift rod' could mean many things.
Can you explain, perhaps with a photo, what actually snapped?

I replaced all my bushes (plastic) and the bearing on the bell-crank, the link rod and bushes at the gearbox end and now its the best part of my car I think :-)  Go end to end, take it out, clean and replace and it will be all good

Yes, it will probably get better with time.

Thanks for the photo, but I'm still not knowing which part actually snapped.
Perhaps you can post the photo again with an arrow pointing to the spot?
This will help others in the future.

Regards
