Temp when radiator fan cuts in

Hi just a quick question.   Now that the outside temperature is above freezing,
At what temp should the radiator fan cut in at.  When sitting in traffic, my temp gauge reads just over 3/4 before fan cuts in.
Is this normal???   I replaced the fan sender unit in the radiator last year (With a Betaboyz Item)

My Trevi is the same so I'll vote that this is "normal"

it's when it doesn't cut in that it's an issue it's good practice to have a manual override wired via  a spare switch, I have used that facility to predict ahead when hitting a traffic queue

Thanks Guys,  Was considering an over ride switch,  I always get a bit twitchy when the temp gauge rises high.

The problem may be with the water thermostat. If it's not opening when it should then hot water is not allowed to flow into the radiator to trigger fan switch. If that's the case, fitting an override switch will achieve nothing. Check that the whole radiator is hot when the temperature gauge is just above half way.

I did check radiator and system whne temp got up, the water is circulating OK, and the whole system is getting hot, just thought it was getting on the warm side when the fan cuts in??
Had a couple of near misses last summer??  as fan wasn't cutting in, it was a dodgy wire in the end (what a surprise)
