Mark,
I have a plumbers Rothenburger torch head, click to ignite type, which couples to
standard gas cans,  which is
more than enough. I used very little heat, keeping in mind there's rubber inside!
The aluminium soaks up the heat rapidly so be careful.

Get a brass wire brush and clean all around the base of each bleed nipple. Soak them in release fluid for days and days and days. If you have a spare calliper to try it on that might give you something to practice on. When you've had enough soaking then soak a little more. When it's time to try to undo it use the right tools! A six sided socket on a small wrench, hold it under tension and give it a sharp tap with a small hammer, if it doesn't give then soak it some more and repeat. If the first one doesn't give move on to another. Patience is what it'll take but they will give. Have a set of new bleed nipples to hand too!

If you have a really difficult one and have gone down the above route, I found using a rattle gun with a socket set to low then medium setting worked pretty well on a number of the calipers I had amassed. The hammer action is more likely to break it free than simply applying constant pressure. Obviously if they come free with simple pressure then that is what you want.
