Positive battery lead clamp bolt
« on: January 08, 2026, 04:23:49 PM »
Hi all.
Decided to change the battery this week on my 2000 Spyder.
Battery off and new battery in place so all good.
Went to tighten the positive lead clamp onto the positive post and managed to shear the square headed bolt!
The lead is the original green lead with what I think is a lead clamp soldered to it.
So I would like to just get a new square head bolt and tighten the clamp to the battery post it to the battery. Stupid question maybe, but presumably I should be able to push the bolt out of the clamp and replace it shouldn't I?
Problem is it looks pretty stuck in the clamp and may not be able to get out other than drilling.
Any suggestions? Am I missing something?
The bolt I assume is an M10 as the not is 10 mm. Has anyone done this and can recommend a supplier for the bolt?

Thank you
C

Hi

Not sure how the bolt has not just dropped out?

Maybe a photo?

I have a few spare old green power leads you are welcome to.

Ok that gives me confidence to try and hammer it out Peter and thanks for the offer of a green lead if needed.
