Hello,
Thank you for letting me join the forum.
I have just bought a 1975 Beta Spyder, originally 1600, now replaced with a 2000 unit.
I am going to have to find some interior trim parts, door cards, dash top, if such a thing exists, or dashboard due to cracking, interior door handles, as well as a full carpet set.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful, and if someone has a photo of what the original series 1 door cards looked like, this would be a great help.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon

Ah… you have I think bought the Red Series 1 car…. Did you realise just how rare that car is in the UK?

Congratulations

Welcome to the fun of early spider ownership - very early in your case. As you're finding out the interior of the S1 and pre-facelift S2 cars is difficult to track down. Door cards do turn up occasionally but the dash is difficult due to how few were made in RHD and their propensity for cracking. Dash caps ( AFAIK ) are only available for LHD later models.

Be prepared for a bit of a wait and the parts will turn up though - and you'll have an extremely unusual car to enjoy.

Hi Stuart

The car is LHD, so better chance of a dash, but then that means shipping from EU....

Just wondered if you have any spare old door cards regardless of condition which are spare from your Spider?

I have some pre-facelift door cards if you want them. Not sure if S1 were different?

One has a bit of damage on one corner, but I'm not looking for much price wise.

Hi

Having spoken with Simon I think they will be very gratefully received. He lives fairly close to you as well and has probably seen your car at The Motorist….

Hi Neil,

Thank your for your offer of the door cards, they would be ideal, as those on the car at the moment look like they were made from just flat hardboard!! how much do you want for them? and where are you, Peter mentioned you were somewhere in the Bradford area, finally when are you available.

Regards,

Simon

I'd forgotten it was a LHD  - indeed more chance of sucess with that.

I do have some tucked away somewhere - though they're not great. As you probably know (but Simon may not) there are two types, one with molded foam on a hardboard backing and the other moulded from a sort of pressed fibreboard. I'm pretty sure they're interchangeble.
