Parts book(s) and parts diagrams

Many years ago I acquired a set of PDFs that encompassed 4 parts books (allegedly for S2 Betas), 11 repair manuals and sundry other PDFs. I've been using the parts books as my 'bible', but I have now come to the conclusion that my bible is incomplete and by no means 'gospel'.  I've been trying to track down the length of the bolts that clamp the cam wheel end of the inlet cambox, as they are significantly longer than the other cambox bolts. This is because they have to pass through a pressed steel bracket (5mm depth) plus 10mm deep spacers in addition to the length required to clamp the cambox to the cylinder head.

Does anybody have a set of illustrated parts books that are specific to the S2FL Betas (in particular the Spider variant)? My parts book doesn't even acknowledge that there is any such bracket or spacer and has no detail of how the alternator attaches. Any assistance gratefully accepted...

There are three different parts books, excluding the ones for North American cars and monte, then the S2FL is on the edge of the change over to microfiche so there is a fiche for that series that is probably more up to date than the book for same, the late cars S2FL2 only appear on microfiche. The microfiche is split down into a separate fiche for different types and series. You can get an idea how stuff goes together from one book but you need the one specific to your car for detailed information as there are LOADS of unexpected variations on parts. I'm not sure that you can find out any detailed specs from the books aside from the part numbers. I can check what you are asking for though.

Hi Graham, I have 4 pdfs for parts and can see the spyder is specifically mentioned. Just checked and it doesn't refer to the 2l engine so perhaps another variation

I think I've tracked down the bolt size that I require by plugging part numbers into Google. In the S2 parts book I have, there were two part numbers associated with the bolts that fix the cam carriers to the cylinder head: 16044021 and 16044321. Interestingly it seems that these part numbers, besides being used by Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia, are also valid for Ferrari...

Part number 16044021 is an M8 x 1.25 bolt with a length of 40mm. Part number 16044321 is an M8 x 1.25 bolt with a length of 55mm. The difference of 15mm corresponds to the depth of the additional  bracket and spacer that the bolt has to pass through, as well as the cam carrier and thread depth.

So while the S2 parts books doesn't show the bracket and spacer it does appear to acknowledge that there are two different bolt lengths in use. My S2 parts book showed exactly the same image as that provided by rossocorsa, so I think that's as good as it's going to get. And if you were trying to track down part numbers for the bracket and/or spacer, I think you're out of luck...

I would recheck the parts listing as the picture can show an assembly and the part ref will show all the associated parts and any refs at the end of the section.
