Vx filter on a carb model?
« on: July 07, 2025, 04:44:06 AM »
Morning.

So i have a horizontal oil filter on a carb model engine.  Is this normal?  1982 2000 carb model imported from SA.  So i fit a VX filter then?

The VX only had a smaller filter because of lack of space, not sure how that equates on a carb version, does yours  have an oil cooler? I think that's why space is tight on a VX because of the extra mountings. Obviously a larger filter is probably preferable.

No cooler sandwich plate, but its still tight.  I offer up the box on the std one I have ordered, but think I need to get a Vx one.

How odd though.

I'd use the VX filter with the space you have, just change it more often.
