First post on the forum, having just bought not only my first Lancia but my first classic car, a 1979 Beta Spyder from an auction.

It arrives next week and all I’ll say at this point is to prepare to be asked lots of questions.  More details when it arrives.

PS are there many local events in the Kent area?  Or is this something that needs organising and ratifying by the Club?

There are some local events but usually more to the west side and into Sussex.
The regional Lancia Motor Club coordinator hosts these with regular email info.

I hope your Spyder is as good as you hope it to be.

Welcome to the forum. My story is similar a sin I bought my first classic a Beta Spyder from auction end of July. They people here have been great and helped me no end with advice as I embark on a full restoration of my car.   

Where did you buy yours from? Does it need any work? 

Where abouts in Kent are you. I am originally from Kent myself though now live in Lincolnshire

Welcome to the club! The big meet of the year is next weekend! It's probably not too late to join us but it's in Yorkshire. You don't need a Beta to come along, I'll be in a Skoda as my car is still a while off returning to the roads! Details in the events 2025 section.

Thanks for the responses already!

It was from ACA in August, there were two red Spiders there and I got the restored one yesterday after it failed to meet the ‘reserve’ (another long story). It’s the most immaculate Beta I’ve seen in a long time (but I hope to see a few more good ones on my travels to some meets).
