HPE rear wash/wipe reservior pump horrible noise!
« on: October 24, 2025, 03:21:28 PM »
Hello dear friends. Whilst servicing and restoring the HPE rear wash/wipe system the washer bottle pump makes a horrid "strangled chicken type noise"! It does pump water, but is quite slow.
How can I repair the pump please? Is the electric motor within just dry of lubrication after all these years? Or do I need a new wash bottle/Pump assembly?
Thank you.

I would go for a replacement pump fitted to the existing container. Carefully remove the current one and take not of the rubber seal/grommet dimensions and the pump length where it matters. ebay, car builder solutions, Vehicle Wiring Products and many more sell these 12V washer pumps. The old one will be corroded.
