Difference in hoses between carb 2.0 and FI 2.0?
« on: December 18, 2014, 11:08:41 PM »
Wondering if anyone knows whether there are significant differences in the radiator hoses for the carbureted 2.0 (circa 79) and the fuel injected 2.0 (say 81 US spec)?

I've found a Gates part number for the 79 2.0 hoses (20873 and 20802) but they specifically don't list any for the 81/82 2.0. I'm not sure if the air and/or vacuum lines running around required different radiator hose routing.

I realize that most UK folks won't have experience with the 2.0 FI, but thought it was worth asking those wiser than I.

I don't know about NA cars but I believe that the position of the radiator on S2FL2 (including euro market bosch L jetronic) cars differs from earlier ones, also part way through this production the radiator design was changed meaning another different set of pipes. I think it is unlikely that 79 carb hoses will fit an injection car but you'd really need a NA based lancista to advise for definite, I would advise asking on www.lancisti.net

In S2FL2 models radiators are shifted few cms forward, therefore pipes length may be different
