GC in head stat and VX

Hmmm never really thought this through before! Many moons ago GC needed a Beta top water rail and we did a trade where he did my own rail up in exchange for one he needed for a customer. He automatically modded it for the in head stat which isn't a tragedy ..... Or is it? Problem on a VX is that the heater outlet passes via the water rail thereby bypassing the stat. Now does this have any bad effects?

Actually that heater connection through the top rail is an inspired OE change saving many engines from blowing the head gasket at number 4 end and it will not be a problem with your in head stat beyond slightly slower warm up. I have a similar set up on my Montecarlo.
