Factory holes in front floor of Spyder
« on: August 22, 2022, 09:24:38 PM »
Hi
I have my passenger seat out for a tidy up and cleaning of the runners and checking the floor and tidying things up makes sense as the seat's out.
There is what appears to be a hole made by the factory but its missing the seal. There may also be a second one close by, but that is sealed.
Does anyone know why the hole is part of the design and whether there was a metal bung in there or a rubber grommet originally?

Anyone else filled this hole and what solution did you come up with?
Cheers
C

The large and small holes have been there on all the beta floors I've seen. The larger one is blanked by a steel bung, the smaller one by a rubber one. There's similar in the rear floor.

As to what they were for I don't know but I've put them back in on mine when replacing the floor!

Cheers Stuart.
Do you know what size rubber bumf it is? Did you just use a blind grommet?

I don't know what size the small ones were exactly as I redid them with the nearest size tank cutter I had to hand (20mm) but yes a blind rubber grommet and plenty of seam sealer.

Many thanks Stuart
I think they may well be 20 mm.
