Hi Guy

Maybe a silly question, but how are you determining the lengths of any given wire/loom?

Watching Retropower, they use a sort of climbing rope with labels to lay in the car to establish routing and lengths which seems a reasonable option.

Exactly that method Peter. Ran a rope from the ECU down the left side into the boot and across with extra lengths taped to it for branches off that run. I’m going to get alternative colours for cables to the front left and right, cables to the stalks and instruments and ignition etc for clarity on the board.

In other news…. I put the dash back in yesterday. The bracket at the bottom to the brake linkage box was standing off it. The left side vent pipe behind the glovebox was resting on an aircon pipe. That’ll need rerouting somewhere. Bugger.

We don't have the luxury of a 3d modelling suite so these things happen. Overcoming them makes the end result even more satisfying.
