The car was in my wife's family from new , had to drag it from an underground garage as it hadn't move for almost 8 years.
Not much done to get it back driving , all the usual service items , belts, pumps , fuel and brake lines, brake pads.
Had to refurbish the shocks due to availability .
Still need to change the hood and looking for fabric to fix a torn drivers seat.

it's not in show room condition there are battle scars from all the years but it's all there and nothing really bad rust wise as it was garaged most of it's life and in Greece.

Some pics from the day it got out from the undergroud garage

Great photos so far.  That scene is so familiar...  My wife's fathers family are from Athens.  First time I went to stay I was in awe of the Lancia/Fiats and old Fords that were parked on similar side streets in central Athens.  128 3p's everywhere!!

Interior looks amazing, how are the suspension bushes, dash and wiring?

Dash one small crack arround the central vents , it rutlles when idling cold. Mainly the old extra stereo mound. Probably I'll just rip it out.

The chock lever is disconected and the carb was modified with "auto chock" , also points were upgrated to electronic ignition all back in the day.

Door lights not connected , think they were removed for paint (bad) again back in the day and never got connected.
Dash lights a bit dim but all working - sort off - fuell level gauge is ...dancing , temp might get stack.
The shocks were blown and were sent to a specialist for refurbisment and I think the front is sitting a bit higher than normal although it looks it's settling down.

Driving down the road is not bad , not "tight" but not bad, for sure the bushing need replacement ( no idea if they are available) but the initial target was to get the car decent enough to pass the inspection and get it registered again.

Car looks wonderful, good luck.  Next time I am in Athens I will buy you a coffee ;-)

Hi

Nice to see another early Series 2 and in original condition. Those seats look in very good condition as many the stitching comes undone.

What is the knob next to the gear lever?

All the bushes are available at Betaboyz.  My Coupe came from South Africa, every singe bush needed to be replaced.

Peter

I remember that one of the 5 on my 1979 1600 coupe was a spare but functioning switch....this was very handy for my rad fan bypass

Yes, I think it may have been used on the Spider for heated rear window if the optional 'hard top' was fitted. I wired it in to the brake pad/brake reservoir low circuit as a test of the bulb.

So you have a heated rear screen?
