Removing floor console
« on: February 09, 2026, 11:39:32 AM »
I want to remove the shifter rods to replace the bushings.
I am having trouble removing the floor console. I’ve removed the screws
from the front section and removed the seat belt bolts at the end.
But it doesn’t seem to lift out. Is there fasteners underneath the car
Where the seat belt attaches to the floor?
Thanks

The top half should have 2 or 4 fir tree type fixings as well as 2 screws in the side. There is a support underneath at with screws on the side around the gear change position and one either side through the floor. If you've removed the seat belt stalks you'll see the back end should clip over the bracket underneath and this may need pulling to the sides to lift it off. Should be pretty straight forward.

I’ve removed the Firr like fasteners and screws.
The screws that run along each side of the console (3 on each side)
are missing. The only place that I see that is preventing me from
lifting it out is the seat belts at the back.
There is also a wire for the seat belt warning light that
passes through the console.

Thanks
