Beta Spider S2FL2 radiator boss diameter
« on: February 18, 2026, 10:10:46 PM »
I'm planning to take my refurbished 2 litre engine down to France when we visit in April, and as I'll be using Ian's (squiglyzigly) thermostat and housing mod, I need to know the top radiator inlet boss o.d. size so I can (if needed) order up the correct size of silicone hose. I've learned from bitter experience that trying to get non-standard parts for a 45+ year old car in France is like trying to find unicorn droppings. It's the o.d. of the top inlet boss on the LH side of the radiator as you sit in the car that I need.

Thanks in advance, Graham

Thank you John! That is exactly what I'm looking for, and in glorious technicolour as well... :D  I think this means I'm going to need a reducer section of silicone hose, as I'll be going from 34.5mm o.d. on the rad to 32.75 o.d on the thermostat housing. Or will the hose be able to cope with that amount of difference?

That's quite a small difference Graham, I think you'll
have no issue.

You're welcome Graham

Just bear in mind the caliper is tight but not necessarily dead square as I needed my hand to take the photo.
