What's a 2000 Coupe like to drive?
« on: April 08, 2026, 01:12:03 PM »
So starting to drive my car after pretty much everything has been worked on - suspension struts, bushes, brakes, top end of the engine, carb etc.  It would be easier to list what I have not done - gearbox and clutch are two items.

Handling wise, on the drive it feels - rear end stiff, front end very soft.  On the move the opposite.  Ride height I think looks great, people might think too high but front and back look equal.  My village is full of speed bumps and massive holes so I am not dropping it

Noisy under power really smooth cruising.  Runs out of gears very fast.  I will check the speedo accuracy later.

Frankenstein's exhaust might be some of the cause.  Start saving for a new one..

I will try to get some recordings and post if any good.

Get the rolling road to check the exhaust does not have back pressure from internal baffle issues. It is more common than many realize.
