Centre silencer heat shield i.e. and VX models wanted

Long shot but does anyone have a good centre box heat shield for sale, fits over the centre box attached to floor under rea seat and cross member.

Only fitted I believe ti i.e. and VX models

I am intrigued because I have never seen this heat shield on a car and I have stripped 2 VX Coupes in my time and been under a lot of IEs. I am now waiting for Alan to come up with the parts image and educate me.

Definitely had one on the IE Coupe I stripped, think the remnants went to Guy? From memory he has had a new one made?

I assume it was introduced because of that third silencer.

I don't recall seeing one Peter, I did get a full length centre shield from someone though. Had I seen a rear one I might not have recognized it immediately but I'd like to think I'd have two and two together?

I think Eric was correct - to rpotect the electric fuel pump from getting too hot....

I am repairing mine - not to difficult.

I am going to retract my comment….  I misread as for the third silencer not the one which goes across the rear axle and no not seen one of those…..

Thanks Peter - I can confirm that I still have a full length floorpan heat shield spare if anyone needs it but it's not in great condition. Whether it's the one that came off my car or yours I don't know...
