Looked like rain here as I finished cleaning but thankfully it passed us by

30 odd degrees in the shade and yet I still thought it was a good idea to work on the car in the garage 🤣🤣  minor jobs  today fitted the bonnet cover that was supplied with the car and hopefully repaired the broken clip on rear bumper. the welds had given up and as its chrome I wasn't attempting to re fix that so used Tiger seal to bond it on.

A little bit of surface rust found around sunroof opening area so I ve ordered a touch up stick to fix that hopefully got the right colour as I couldn't find the paint code on the car so used google

So had the dent man round today to get the small dent out of the wing. Paintless dent removal. Wasn’t here that long and I am very happy with the result

Found an issue on the drive today while the car was parked outside a fluid spill left where she was parked. a quick check has revealed a fuel leak around the tank area so thats now an urgent fix to be getting on with. it was gone 5pme when I saw it so will be tomorrow when I can get it up in the air and start investigating.

Probably condensation rot out from inside tank above the flange line. You will need to take tank out (empty via siphon from sender hole, and see how bad it is when all the sealant etc is cleaned off.

If you slosh with Por15 etc be ever so careful if i.e or volumex not to block up the swirl pot/pick up with the slosh....

So my fuel leak transpires to be a failed clip to what I think is a breather pipe and I therefore assume that as I massively over filled the car this is the result. Anyway the tank is out and I am in the process of changing all the fuel pipes under the car, which leads to my post on the fuel system threads as Ive made a rookie error and the pic i took isnt clear so I am stuck working out which is which for flow and return.  The metal pipes in the car and the rubber ones from them were both same size.

Then to make my afternoon even happier I sent an image of the fuel pipes in the boot to a friend who has pointed out that i have some serious corrosion on the offside rear turret which I hadn't seen and which I am most cross at myself for as this is going to be a major repair not dissimilar to my Spyder so you think Id have spotted that.
Looks like Ive got a fair amount of winter work on this to keep me busy

Annoying by strip off the sound deadening and see what you've got. A piecemeal repair here isn't too hard.

Yes I am hopeful I can get away with a small local repair there. The car is garaged and unlikely to be out in rain so hopefully it wont get any worse. It is well undersealed on the outside so hopefully it isnt too bad when I do get to it which I am aiming to do from October on when I hibernate the car.

Sorry to have spotted that Steve.... I'd recommend that you remove the carpet in the boot and have a really really close look at the joint between the floor and the turret, if you can get a borescope into the box section underneath that where the crossmember is bolted to to check that's solid too. Both sides. Catch it early!

I will in Autumn strip the interior out, which I needed to do to an extent in order to have the door cards recovered and then investigate it properly. As luck would have it I purchased and endoscope to look at inside of fuel tank so I can use this to have a good look internally. Going by the mess that was on the boot floor inside and the masking tape stuck over chassis access points I am of the opinion this has been well protected internally but we will look and see. I am grateful you spotted it BTW as better now than in a few years time when it's really bad.

I wonder what it looks like inside the arch?  It might have a repair patch?  You can stick your scope up the rails easily, takes minutes.

I am assuming the sound deadening fitted was added after some previous repairs.  The car has had a respray at some point so to my mind its a given its had some welding.
