Source of Studs for door card?
« on: October 07, 2012, 11:23:36 PM »
Hi All

Anyone have a suggestion for replacement studs to hold on the door card?

Not sure if the F/L cars have different ones, but looking for pre F/L.

Ah, should have looked a bit more as found post by Gerhard with discussion on these. Any alternative available in UK as ones in Portugal are a little expensive at over £1 each and I need two door cards worth....

Refitted my door cards recently on my 1981 spider using new clips from Fiat, part no 14191280, around 49p each.
Hope this helps, Tim

They are probably the same as used in fiats i.e. cinquecento, seicento etc. If so, there are alternative replacements in Poland for about 10p/piece.

a couple of years ago I bought the same clips (FIAT 14191280)
I remember having to remove the plastic inserts in the door to fit mine, as the diameter of the new clip was wider

Feedback on it. The locally sourced studs, lasted about a week. Problem is that when they gave up they also damaged the new card. So in hindsight, go for as close to the original as possible.

Just following up on this one.

I sourced the following clips which are pretty close to the originals and fit snugly into the holes in the doors. The head size is just a tad larger, but ok. The head to base height where the doorcard fits is pretty much the same.

10 off for £2.99, worth having a play with at least.

Seller is 227sparts

I will update when I get around to fitting the door card and see if I have the same issue as Gerhard.
