Hello there.

Well the Lancia is the most Italian car right...?!

Anyhow, I am a huge fan of all cars from the 1960's and 1970's and I would love to own a Lancia one day.

A very good friend of mine owned the Dark Green, ex-Russ Smith Lancia Beta Coupe many years ago and it was a gem, I was very impressed!

One day I will own one, one day...!!!

Welcome.

The good news for you is entry level Lancia ownership is not expensive. Yes Stratos and some of the other models (B24 Spider springs to mind) do go for silly money but you can get a useable Beta for £1500 and Deltas, Dedras & Themas for less.

What are you driving at the moment?

Yes betas in particular remain one of the few cheap untouchables in the classic market, even given the rust scandal reputation it is difficult to see why this remains the case but probably wise to get one before the media suddenly wake up to the beta bargain. Fraction of the cost of a stiff as a board ford escort and ten times the car!

I also think that the beta is the last lancia not afflicted by difficult to fix head scratchingly difficult modern tech, yes parts can be a tad difficult (part of the fun the chase for parts) but it is simple enough to solve most issues at home.

I suspect the Toledo and later dolomite 1300 etc were aimed at a very similar class of customer to the beta when new, despite both cars being available at the same time mainly due to the much more modern underpinnings a well sorted beta will be a revelation in comparison. You should get over to a meeting as soon as possible so you can become addicted :-)

Nothing wrong with  a Toledo!

There's a yellow one I see around here fairly often and compared to the millions of Euroboxes it looks pretty exotic!
