Oil Cooler.
« on: October 15, 2025, 11:04:21 AM »
Is there a recommended size? I've looked through the Guy Croft book but couldn't find anything other then one is recommended for a tuned engine. Plan is for a vertical installation next to the water radiator and the size of the oil cooler may dictate the final size/design of that.

Cheers

Guy,
My engine was spec'd for a 13-row cooler, but there were none in stock so I have a 16. IMO this was too big!
For a reasonably standard engine, I'd go for a 10-row if you have space. Hope this helps?

Overtaken by events Chris - went with a 19 row one. It will be thermostatically controlled and won't be fan fed. Also pondering the Accusump system you have also got. I ought to have space, especially if they can be fitted horizontally! Vertically may be getting tight!
