Spyder rear light clusters
« on: November 23, 2025, 10:43:47 PM »
Hi all.

Made a discovery today… after two months of ownership I noticed that my ‘79 Spyder has odd rear light clusters!

The reflectors show the difference; the nearside is thin and wide while the offside is more square. Research up to this point shows that the offside is probably the correct one.  Or is it?

I’ve not seen any pics online at all of the thin version, so which cars have the more thinner, rectangular reflector? Or is it the correct version after all?  (More to the point, does anyone want what could be an extremely rare item?!)

PS yes I know the badges are on the wrong way round.  Whoever restored the car gave me a few little jobs to redo.  Which is nice.

Hi

Simple answer, small reflector is pre facelift, large is facelift car. Ie brown dash/carpets etc has small reflector, black dash/carpet has large reflector.

You often see mixed ones as hard to find.
