Engine vibration damper bushings
« on: July 08, 2026, 02:37:51 PM »
I have printed up and fitted the large and small bushings for the engine vibration dampers (Crank pullet and Gearbox ends). The bigger (lower end) ones on mine were totally rotten and hidden by the large washers used to mount them.

Shame that I only discovered that the damper pistons were totally useless after having removed them from the car !!

The bushings are printed in PU filament and so have rubber like qualities. They may be of use to someone who has actually removed these dampers and established that theirs are worth refurbishing.

Cheers,

Steve

I have a damper from Mark that needs a couple of bushes to be usable (It may be a Mercedes one, can't remember!) but I need to check the I/D of the new shock absorber is the same as the old one.... I'll get back to you at the weekend! Keep up the good work!

I Have now received the gearbox end alternative damper which is the suggestion of many.

The eyelets are much narrower than the original and so require spacers for fitment. The ID of the sleeve is 8mm and needed to be drilled out to 10mm.

Fits nicely and pretty sure this will do the job just fine.

Just waiting for the damper for the Crank pully end to arrive which will also require the same mods.

Cheers,

Steve
