Glovebox lock bezel
« on: August 03, 2026, 09:13:35 AM »
Hi

Bit of a tangent, but supplied a spare lock to John (MyLanciaBetaSpider) which had a split plastic black bezel. I had seen this before on other cars, so suspect is common, though the 3 brown versions I have had were still perfect.

I remember Steve in Oz had sent a photo of one he had designed and he kindly sent that over with a comment that reproducing the 4 small retaining lugs was not possible (true) using 3D printing and hence had to glue the bezel onto the the metal barrel.

After various attempts to effect a non gluing solution, I added a couple of small protrusions into the inside of the bezel and aligning them with the existing cutouts in the metal barrel that appears to gives just enough retention to avoid gluing. Photo shows printed in black PETG.
