HPE filler cap

I wondered if anyone has a spare 'original' HPE filler cap. The one with the 3 points?

Sure I hope you can make it out okay on here.

The one I have is doing the job ( just ) It's got Lancia / Fiat badging but I suspect that its for something else.

Also if anyone has one but without the key, it doesn't matter.

I've only ever seen that style cap on a Beta HPE... Note the shield outline around the key escutcheon?

They were on late series coupés as well. They often seem to be missing on cars,  many must have got lost in petrol stations over the years.

Yes I lost one once that way ( not on the Lancia )

I should post a photo of the one I have and see if anyone recognises it. I've a feeling its for a Coupé ( perhaps an earlier series )

You're right it is an 'HPE' filler cap. And yes I did notice the faint impression of the Lancia shield! A nice detail.
If anyone else happens to find a spare one do drop me a line.

I noticed that there are plenty of aftermarket caps available online, that I'm sure would work fine, but I don't like the look of them.
I'm quite fussy with things like that.

I'll check with Omicron also, I recently ordered a rubber seal from them to replace the worn one that seals the rear door ( kindly suggested by Nigel ) to seal off exhaust fumes entering the cabin. I improvised some small foam parts to fit in the recesses on the worn seal and it worked. So I'm looking forward to doing the job properly.

She's running well by the way, always such a particular joy.

This style of cap was missing from my last ie Coupe and replaced by a generic off the shelf version, which as you say are easy to come by. In a year of searching I only ever saw one for sale for 80 or 90 Euro, maybe on eBay Italy.

Mine failed to open /unlock so with help from Nigel I carefully dismantled to find a small spring had failed. Fitting a new spring and greasing the mechanism it now operates like silk.

It's those small jobs, small improvements that are super satisfying!

Now that my new boot seal has been prised out of customs hands I can hopefully carry out such a job this weekend,

By the way ( I'm straying off topic I know ) but I visited the 'Classic Car House' in Copenhagen today.
It's well worth a visit. A great private collection! plus a fabulous space where private customers can store their cars
and where they are also displayed to the public.

It's a very easy place to lose track of time.
