Head gasket fitment
« on: October 31, 2026, 10:46:55 AM »
Hi all. Bought a thicker head gasket from oldtimer, went to put it back together and the dowel holes are slightly out. Line them up and the gasket is slightly bowed. Anyone with a bit more experience with this think this is fine or best to go back to them?

Up north near Leeds. Yeah we tried our best finagle it but it wouldn't line up properly. I've just gone and ordered one off AECar. I don't know why I couldn't find it from there when I was looking for one, but it looks similar to the one I took off. Slightly annoying as I was hoping to fire it up today

I bought all my head work stuff from AEC.  He was excellent.  Valves, guides, gaskets, etc.  I bought the heavy duty HG in the end, so had the one from the set left over.
