advice needded
« on: March 12, 2013, 06:21:42 PM »
i have not been using my car much recently but now i would like to start using it.
the trouble i have got is everytime i leave it for a few days its hard to start. i have noticed the fuel filter is full of petrol when i leave the car after using it but after a day or so the filter is empty and it wont start.
if i take the air cleaner lid off and poor a little fuel down the carb it fires up and the filter fills up and it runs ok.

i guess the fuel is evapourating from the carb when its left, any ideas why?

More likely the fuel is being drawn back to the tank.
easiest solution : fit electric pump and prime before
starting.

Hi

This topic was discussed at length before. search for 'fuel draining away'

May give you some clues to what to look for.

The membrane in your pump is shot. As Peter points out the subject was covered at length not long ago.
