Great to have a willing volunteer. So now I only have to listen to what I am told!

Probably quite late in the day but I won’t be attending this weekend.

The blunt honest truth is that I simply cannot justify spending £2 a litre on E5 to do non-essential journeys at the moment.

Have fun 🙂

Oh dear, it could have worked well otherwise!

Hi Alex, just wanted to say thanks for organising the weekend and especially Friday night curry. It was great to see everyone and pleased i had the HPE back in time for the trip. Nice to have the LED headlights for the trip home!. 100 miles in 90 mins so wasn't hanging around......

Saw this v rare 1300 at Beaulieu today. Not one i've seen before, car looked v solid with early orange interior which was a bit tired.

Have you got a link to the LED's you used for the HPE as I found the candles difficult too anything. I was going to first look at upgrade bulbs but may consider LED's

At one time this and my other 1300 were the only pre-facelift 1300 Coupes on the road. It used to live in the North West but has likely moved on if at Beaulieu....

My absolute pleasure Kevin - it was great that you came up and with your HPE too - not that we would have minded the Fulvia either! I saw that 1300 coupé for sale a while ago, so I wonder if it is in new hands? The "OO" registration is interesting as it is an Essex / Chelmsford registered car - on closer inspection of the plate it came from Wood & Krailing in Theydon Bois where our original Berlina came from! Apparently local folklore had it that Ford in Dagenham used to get really cross when other cars makes were parading the "OO" registration plates as they used to like to keep them for their press car registrations! Our Beta used the other Chelmsford idenfiyer -  "AR". We're really lucky to have a such a good indian restuarant and pub in close proximity of each other! See you at the NEC?

I went for these Dek's.  Recommended on this forum by a few - https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/pair-of-warm-white-led-headlights-h4-hi-lo-beam-conversion-9-32v-excellent-beam-pattern?srsltid=AU7gw4XMqtaGL7mDrSflkY582xdtRv-9GVBQ0FENDrCdYbzk3RxeJafs

Deks - I can thoroughly reccomend Classic Car LEDS - I have them in my instrument clusters in my SAAB 900 and will be doing the same in my Beta - very good and much more reliable that others I have used.

Are these the right units for twin headlights?  My assumtpion as Ive not actually looked to check on the car is the outers are dipped beam and inners main beam

so assumed you'd want two units per side and not hi/lo units

I've wired my outer lights to give main beams
as an add-on to the inners. The filaments are there so I
thought why not use them.
I do have relays to operate them though.

I may well get these LED units and connect in the same way.

Ignore my actual fitment, my cheap light replacements are all H4's, I am guessing yours are not. Get the right type for your lights.

I am thinking of going full beam all four lights - at the moment its outer just using dipped (LED) and inner just using full beam (these are still std halogen bulbs)

My lights are H1s i.e. dipped beam only on the outers and main beam only on the inners. I only changed the dipped beam to leds just to try them as main beam seemed pretty good with std bulbs. I bought the 4500 lumens - 6000k white versions as i wanted to really see if they made a difference and the transformation was amazing. Doing it again i might go for the 4500k warm white which looks a bit more like a traditional bulb.  The rubber seal backs on the headlights dont fit with these bulbs but that doesnt seem to affect reliability.  Best thing by a mile ive done to the car!.

Bugger.

Speeding ticket dropped through the letter box today. Fortunately not from a section of the road we convoyed on. M40 on the way home. That'll teach me to use cruise control more....
